Climate Investment participates in Svante’s $75m financing round

OGCI Climate Investment is pleased to confirm its participation in Svante’s US$75 million round of Series D equity financing. Climate Investment first invested in Svante, a novel carbon capture technology company, in 2018. This latest funding round was led by Temasak and brought in new high calibre investors. It marks the largest private investment into point source carbon capture globally to date.
Carbon capture remains a key area of focus for Climate Investment. Svante’s technology has the potential to significantly lower the cost of capture which is a critical step to large scale adoption and to addressing emissions from hard-to-abate sectors. In addition to Climate Investment’s financial support, Svante is also accelerating its technology development via projects with four OGCI member companies – Chevron, Total, Occidental and Aramco.
